CWDMA in consultation with you...

Initiated in Fall 2000, CWDMA consulted with its member companies to develop a strategic action plan reflecting and addressing industry and association issues. Priority areas identified by the membership are:

Membership An organization is as strong as its membership base. CWDMA represents all aspects of the fenestration industry, not only coast to coast but internationally as well. Membership includes manufacturers, all component suppliers, laboratories, agencies and industry consultants. CWDMA provides a strong networking forum for the fenestration industry. Membership is a priority for CWDMA and a concrete plan has been developed to recruit new members and add new dimension to our voice.

Communication CWDMA is committed to keeping our members informed. Information gives competitive advantage. CWDMA members are regularly informed about changes to standards and legislation, new technologies, ongoing research and new business opportunities in the domestic and global marketplace. Regular bulletins, newsletters, and the CWDMA website enable CWDMA members to access vital information for their business through a variety of preferred communication conduits.

Standards and Legislation Receiving the highest priority from our members, there was consensus that CWDMA should remain actively involved in the standards and legislation writing and review process. Recognizing the importance of these activities, CWDMA hired Jeff Baker of WestLab as the CWDMA Technical Consultant to support its activities and members.

Harmonization This was also given high priority and was one of the deciding factors in hiring a Technical Consultant. CWDMA will be proactively involved with CSA in the harmonization efforts with AAMA / WDMA and NFRC.

Influence and Leadership CWDMA is the only national organization representing the fenestration industry in Canada. Business, government and consumers look to CWDMA as the information source on our industry. Programs such as Sill to Sash and identifying key individuals in government and consumer groups are priorities for the Association.

Win-Door The foremost showcase for the fenestration industry is owned by CWDMA. Recognizing the importance of this key and essential networking opportunity for all industry sectors, CWDMA is working closely with our event manager Shields and Associates to ensure the continuity and success of North America's premier trade show.
